Now They Really Have Something To Be Sad About: Six Flags Maces Emo Kids During All Time Low's Bamboozle Roadshow Performance.
Aside from rickety roller coasters and sunburns, if there's one thing you can expect to see at a Six Flags, it's rowdy kids. So maybe it's not all that surprising that, at Saturday's Bamboozle Roadshow deal at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington (check out our slide show here), some of the tweens watching All Time Low's performance got a little crazy--even rushing the stage, as you can see in the above clip.
But this is pretty shocking: Park security, reacting to the melee, doused the youngsters with pepper spray. All Time Low was clearly perturbed, lashed out against the park onstage and on their Twitter account: "I don't care how rowdy a crowd of kids are, there is absolutely no excuse for the police at SIX FLAGS to spray mace in our fans faces."
The park's response? Banning the emo act from playing at Bamboozle's following stop at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio on Sunday.
Over the weekend, Six Flags representative Sharon Parker release a rather matter-of-fact statement on the incident: "In an effort to diffuse the situation, pepper spray was used and approximately 15 guests were affected."
Here's ours: Way to go, Six Flags. Your first semi-cool concert since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles played there in the early '90s, and you have to go and do this.
