...not from Fort Worth, unfortunately.
Just got an email from a promotions representative from EMI telling me that my interview with Fort Worth's Green River Ordinance has canceled--or at least postponed. Seems the same is going to be true for the band's scheduled appearance in Dallas on June 19 with American Idol winner Kris Allen.

The reason? Well, here's what that nice promotions lady wrote me:
"I just wanted to touch base and let you know that the bands show on June 19th in Dallas has just been bumped out due to a tour with the Goo Goo Dolls. Green River will be back to play Dallas on August 21st playing at Superpages.com Center."
The Goo Goo Dolls? Those guys haven't made a listenable record since 1995. Seems like an odd touring partner for the fellows from Fort Worth, by what do I know?

So as sad as it makes me feel, I'll have to wait until August to interview Green River Ordinance.

And, really, all I wanted to ask them was whether or not any of them had ever heard the great Seattle grunge act Green River. Oh well. Next time.
