Smile Smile To Release Limited Edition EP at Tonight's House of Blues Show

Categories: DFW Music News

Tonight in the House of Blues' Cambridge Room, local indie-pop duo Smile Smile will headline an all-local bill that also features Dovetail and Pale Horse. Expect the headliners to be in a celebratory mood at this show--and for good reason: Today is band member Ryan Hamilton's birthday. But what's really weird is that tomorrow is his band counterpart Jencey Hirunrusme's birthday. As if these two didn't have enough issues.

To further celebrate, the band will be offering up a gift bag at this show with a copy of its Truth on Tape album, a poster and, here's the kicker, a bonus disc called the Birthday EP (for obvious reasons). The new disc, which Hamilton says will only be available at this one show, features an introduction from labelmate and tourmate Bob Schneider, three acoustic versions of Truth on Tape songs, an unreleased demo called "Have I Failed You," and a live take of "Sad Song," which the band recorded during a show in New York City.

Explains Hamilton of the release: "It's our small way of saying thank you to a home town that's always been incredibly good to us."

Everyone together now: "Awwwwwwwwwwwww!"
