Today marks the release of Punk Goes Classic Rock, the ninth installment of Fearless Records' Punk Goes... cover songs series since its inception with 2000's Punk Goes Metal. Back then, it wasn't too shabby a concept; the original disc that boasted names like Strung Out, The Ataris, New Found Glory, AFI and RX Bandits among its artist roster.

Today's new compilation boasts a list of much smaller names--more of a suburban tween variety, which should come as little surprise. So, naturally, DFW's own Forever The Sickest Kids appears on the album, alongside a whole bunch of touring Plano Centre concert alums. It's the band's second appearance in the series; the band covered Will Smith's "Men In Black" for 2008's Punk Goes Crunk alongside fellow DFW act The Secret Handshake, who covered Skee-Lo's "I Wish" for the same compilation.

FTSK's effort for the latest compilation--a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train"--is a marked improvement over its last go, but, like many of the songs on the disc, it lacks pretty much all the punch of the original. The good news for FTSK? Its rendition might actually be the best on the rather lackluster disc (which can be streamed in full here).

Give FTSK's "Crazy Train" a listen after the jump.
