• Girl Talk is BS anyway. Lazy *** hole. Mash-Ups are a joke.

• I wouldn't put this entirely on the neighborhood either. Granted, a few homeowners with giant bank accounts in UP might have overreacted to the ("oh, dear god, is that, hip-hop music? being performed...loudly, by...the blacks"), the organization(s) that planned this event should have considered the potential fallout. With a little more diligence and respect for the symbiosis of neighborhood and college campus, this could have been a successful event...in a more centralized mall / plaza. As far as the stangbags (patenting now), I had the misfortune (or pleasure, depending on mood) of overhearing a few classic trust fund funded lines. I recall a ponybag (an assumed freshman / sophomore) who stood atop a ledge, arrogantly shouting to the security staff, "This is Bullshit! I'll make 8-fold the money you make by the time I'm 20!" Honest to (Methodist) God. His words exactly. I'm certain that there are plenty of wonderful, reasonable, kind and caring people on campus, but this unnamed ponyboy certainly didn't do a great deal of stereotype shattering.

• screw you LewTheZulu... It wasnt SMU's fault that the performance got shut down it was the neighborhoods surrounding. Just because you couldnt get it as result of you seemingly nonexistent narrow mind, you shouldnt insult the school like that.

• Yeah, that almost set off a riot.... It would have been crazy to see the first riot in Dallas/SMU history!! I have also seen girl talk 3 times and I seriously doubt he just no showed. However I do believe the stuffy neighborhood that it was in most likely didn't want it so it got stopped. but If I find out he no showed I'll never go to his show again.

• Where is girl talk playing instead tonight? Rumor was he was playing at deux in mockingbird station, but I just came from there and he was no where to be found. If anyone has heard any other venues where he could be playing please respond immediately

• I work at SMU. They have to get approvals for this kind of thing way ahead of time, including noise levels and stuff. It's all carefully planned out. They don't shut these things down last minute. Girl Talk just didn't want to go on.
