T Bone Burnett Adds Best Song Oscar To Long List of Accomplishments

​Falling may feel like flying, but surely this must, too: At last night's 82nd annual Academy Awards ceremony, Fort Worth's own T Bone Burnett and Austin's Ryan Bingham, as expected, took home the Oscar for Best Song for their work on the song "The Weary Kind" as part of the Crazy Heart soundtrack.

Burnett didn't speak on stage during the acceptance, instead allowing Bingham, who missed the tandem's winning moment at the Golden Globes, to take the microphone. But he did receive a nice shout-out from Best Actor winner Jeff Bridges, star of Crazy Heart, who, during his speak thanked both Burnett and his recently deceased friend and collaborator Stephen Bruton for their contributions to the film.

It makes all the more sense upon viewing this Bruton performance with The Resentments from back in 2008, no doubt.
