Giveaway: A Pair Of Tickets to See Bowerbirds and The Fox & The Bird on Friday at House of Blues' Cambridge Room
In the issue of the Observer set to hit stands today tomorrow (depending on your Metroplex locale), Chris Parker checks in with Bowerbirds' Phil Moore. And, in the resulting piece, Moore was kind enough to candidly explain the differences between his band's beautifully spare 2006 debut, Hymns for a Dark Horse, and its lush 2009 follow-up, Upper Air. In short, Moore says, he was just bored and wanted to try something new.
We bring all this up, of course, because North Carolina-based folk outfit will be stopping through our neck of the woods this weekend with a gig at the House of Blues' Cambridge Room on Friday night. Oh, and opening for them? Local folk faves The Fox & The Bird, who, assuming nothing's changed since Friday, are about as pleashed as pie to be sharing this bill.
Update: Contest is over. Congrats to our winner!
