Dixie Chicks and Old 97's Named to Texas Music's Best Albums Of The Decade List, Other Area Acts Named Among Its Artists Of The Decade

On the album side, Dallas artists score as The Dixie Chicks' Home was named album of the decade. A bit further down the line, the Old 97's' Satellite Rides came in at No. 18, proving once and for all maybe, that our own list was crap.
But it's in the Artists of the Decade feature where DFW-bred talents truly scored. With five of the 10 acts named all born from North Texas origins: The Dixie Chicks, Norah Jones, Kelly Clarkson, Pat Green and Miranda Lambert (who is from Lindale, which is close enough). The other five on the list? Beyonce, Alejandro Escovedo, Spoon, Rodney Crowell and, somewhat surprisingly given this publication, Houston's Underground Kingz (UGK for life, yo).
DFW earned a little more shine in the magazine, too, thanks to a profile on the upcoming Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights release. Read that piece right here.
