We first mentioned this much on Twitter last night, but now, more details: Revered, DOMA-dominating area singer-songwriter Sarah Jaffe has signed a multi-record deal with Dallas-based record label Kirtland Records, home to the Toadies, Bush and Dallas-based indie pop duo Smile Smile.

The deal, says Kirtland's Tami Thomsen, just came to be in the past days: "Like yesterday or two days ago or a few minutes ago," Thomsen jokes, while acknowledging her own excitement at the signing.

The first record fans can expect from Jaffe on Kirtland is the singer's full-length debut, Suburban Nature, which will serve as the follow-up to Jaffe's stunning debut EP, Even Born Again. As for when fans can expect it, Thomsen's not yet sure, although it won't be for at least a few months: "Not before March," Thomsen say.

In the meantime, fans can expect Kirtland to release an as-yet-undetermined single from the disc tracklist of 12 new songs to be released to iTunes "sometime just after the holidays." Selecting which track will be released first is just one of the many details still left to be hammered out, Thomsen continues, explaining that the disc still needs to be re-mastered and the full-length album cover (see the tentative version above) still needs to be finished.

In the meantime, Jaffe will perform a few Denton and Dallas dates this month (on December 18 at J&J's Pizza in Denton and on December 30 at Opening Bell Coffee in Dallas) before hitting the road as tour support for her fellow Dentonites in Midlake both in the U.S. and in Europe in early 2010.

In other Kirtland news, Thomsen shares that the Kirtland-managed country act Eleven Hundred Springs will see its new album released by Smith Music Group on February 2, and Smile Smile's upcoming record release has been pushed up a week to February 9.
