Allan Holdsworth

​Legendary British guitarist Allan Holdsworth appears tonight at the intimate confines of Dan's Silverleaf.
 
Perhaps best known for his work with the progressive '70s outfit UK, Holdsworth has also played with Level 42, Gong, Soft machine, Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson) and many, many others. The 63-year-old Holdsworth was also once referred to as "the best in my book" by none other than Eddie Van Halen. Say what you will about Van Halen's taste in lead singers, but the guy still knows a thing or two about guitarists.

Holdsworth's instrumental chops are perhaps best sampled on his work with UK or on Bruford's Feels Good to Me, but even his most recent output (especially Jean-Luc Ponty's The Acatama Experience) shows that the man's fret skills have not diminished over the years.

Fans of progressive rock and jazz have sung Holdsworth praises for decades and they guy regularly ends up on lists of top 20 guitarists of all time.
So all you guitar wankers who think Clapton is still god need to go to Denton tonight and see a real guitar apostle.
