Weekend Roundup: Star Wars: In Concert, Alice in Chains, The Bravery

Star Wars: In Concert at Dallas Cowboys Stadium on Friday, October 23
"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

The opening moments of Star Wars still give me the chills no matter how many times I watch it. Seeing it on the monstrous screens at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in tandem with a symphony must've been an intense visceral experience...

For fanboys and girls who couldn't go, fellow Star Wars geeks were nice enough to post clips.

Alice in Chains at Nokia Theatre on Friday, October 23
The Seattle grunge rockers made Friday night's Freakers Ball worth going to. Guitar god Jerry Cantrell, with longtime Alice in Chains members Sean Kinney and Mike Inez and new singer William DuVall,, is touring in support of the band's new album, Black Gives Way to Blue. AIC included several classics in its set, though, saving "Rooster" for the encore.

The Bravery at House of Blues on Sunday, October 25
NYC's The Bravery rolled through Dallas on Sunday night in advance of its new album, due out in December. Did you know that lead singer Sam Endicott co-wrote a few songs for Shakira, including "She Wolf," her latest single? Weird, huh? Unfortunately, The Bravery didn't do a cover.
