Blues club Hole In The Wall on Harry Hines will return to its roots as a burger restaurant at the end of the month, as owner Tom Ford has opted not to renew the club's liquor license.

Some of the area's most popular blues performers, including Jim Suhler (who performs tonight), Tutu Jones and Texas Slim and the Love Machine, have graced the stage.

Ford wasn't immediately available for comment, but longtime cook and cashier Jackie Davis confirmed the change. Without the bar, she said, the hours will change to 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and bands will no longer perform.

"I don't think anyone wants to hear any music if they can't have a drink," she said.
