A Couple New DJ Mixtapes Worth Checking Out...

A couple of area DJs released some impressive mixtapes this week--good listening, I'd say, especially as you count down the minutes until, your weekend officially gets started.

First up, check out the latest from Wanz Dover, aka Blixaboy, called, quite simply enough, "Summer Bass Mix." Like most Blixaboy tapes, it's a little heavy on his own material--seven of the 15 tracks, in this case--but, on this tape, that's actually OK. Mostly because it fits quite well on this impressive, almost ethereal mix of lighter drum-and-bass fare and ambient electronica. Stream and download the mix right here. And, if you dig, check out the new Dover-hosted residency, The Atomic Party, at Fallout Lounge, where Blixaboy will perform on a diverse bill also featuring Juan Solo, Nervous Curtains and Akkolyte

Second, dance fans will no doubt dig the latest from Killtron, "Back Up, Stack Up, Sweat!," featuring tracks from Major Lazer, Nine Inch Nails, Kid Sister, La Roux, Miike Snow, and many others--but most prominently, I think, Killtron's impressive mixing and blending capabilities.
