Whattup, Colleyville: Demi Lovato's Here We Go Again Tops The Billboard 200
Still, despite being atop the Billboard 200, Lovato does not have the top-selling disc in the country. That honor, unsurprisingly, still belongs to the late Michael Jackson, whose compilation album Number Ones sold 154,000 this past week. Trick is, that disc is more than 18 months old, so rather than reside on the Billboard 200, the disc is moved to the trade magazine's Top Comprehensive Albums charts, which follows sales on albums regardless of their age.
Still, it's quite the honor for Lovato, if one that doesn't come as a huge surprise. After all, with the Disney machine backing her (this is Mickey Mouse's whopping fourth No. 1 album of the year) and appearances on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon helping boost sales, this result was probably somewhat of a given.
What isn't a given, though? This headline from MTV News this morning: Demi Lovato/Kelly Clarkson Collaboration In The Works? Though such a collaboration would no doubt confirm North Texas' position as the tops in Girl Power Pop, the story simply states that the two are gushing over each other--no plans for collaborations are currently set between the native daughters of Colleyville and Burleson.
Oh well. Either way, congrats to Lovato. And, remember: We so told you this was gonna happen.
