• @lance: i figured that's what you were saying but i wanted to make it known that, at least in my book, that double standard isn't ok. as for his "work", it's marginal on a good day. most of the time this guy is the journalistic equivalent of digging through someone's garbage.

• @ Brian: By saying it's ok for him to say it I was basically referring to him probably thinking it's ok. Being familiar with his "work" I'm sure he thought it was just fine to say that to him. I personally can't stand the man and think he's the lowest form of "celebrity." It was nice to meet you too, and yes beers are always great by me!

• oh, and lance, who ever said it was ok for hilton to do that? as a gay man i found his actions deplorable. btw, nice meeting you the other night. next time when it's not a hundred degrees and i don't have a pack of people waiting on drinks i'll buy you a beer!

• i whole heartedly disagree, eattrn. perez hilton is a loud mouthed jackass and he really stuck both feet squarely in his mouth over this. his excuse was that he wanted to use the worst possible word against will.i.am. his behavior was unacceptable, regardless of his race, gender or orientation. the gay and lesbian alliance against defamation (GLAAD) has already come out with the following statement: <i>"These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community," said Rashad Robinson, Senior Director of Media Programs at GLAAD. �For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, �The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,� is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.� �We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.�</i> hilton should have to answer for what he did and so should the tour manager from the black eyed peas (not will.i.iam as some bloggers are saying) for assaulting him.
