This week's print supplement to DC9 includes
my review of
Little Black Dress' debut album
Snow In June. Little Black Dress,
as you'll recall, is a collaboration between Nolan Thies and Toby Pipes and is the first release from
Idol Records imprint
Exploding Plastic Records.
Though he has a respectable career with brother Todd at
Bass Propulsion Laboratories,
Pipes will always be remembered for his involvement in Deep Blue
Something, the band whose hit single "Breakfast At Tiffany's" helped
usher in the ruin of alternative-rock radio in the '90s. Songs from his
latest band, though, are far more listenable--and not nearly as
catchy--as those of Deep Blue Something.
But you can be the judge of that. After the jump, you can download "End Film," a cut off the album.
