Lip synching has been a part of live television since the days of American Bandstand, Soul Train, and Midnight Special. It didn't start with Ashlee Simpson on SNL. Live music sounds terrible and flat when mixed for live television. (Are you really just now figuring this out?)

Eminem is anything but generic. "Generic" implies that something is without a signature sound or style. Perhaps you'd like to give five or six examples of other artists who write like Em', sound like Em', look like Em', or sell as many CDs as him. Fuck, Tom. Name ONE artist who comes anywhere close. Like him or not, NOBODY sounds like him (and vice versa)... and no rapper sells as many CDs or sells out as many arena-sized shows.
