There's another name to add to the
list of local artists nominated for Grammys.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Music Director
Miguel Harth-Bedoya is up for his work on
Traditions And Transformations: Sounds Of Silk Road Chicago. The recording features Harth-Bedoya conducting the
Chicago Symphony Orchestra with soloist
Wu Man (whose name is completely misleading, as she is neither a man nor affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan.) and
Yo Yo Ma (pictured with Harth-Bedoya). The nomination is for Category 102, Best Instrumental Soloist Performance with Orchestra--dunno how Pete missed it. The same album is also up for Best Engineered Album (Classical) and Producer of the Year (Classical). The full list of nominees is
here. --
