It’s been a tough last couple of years for the members of Sorta. First, was the painful loss of member Carter Albrecht. Then the departure of Ward Williams to the bright lights of Nashville and Music Row.
But, alas good news is finally coming out of the Sorta camp: They will have a CD release party at The Pontiac Garage (formerly Cambridge Room) at the House of Blues in Dallas on October 21 for the new self titled release, Sorta.
If the new album is anywhere near as good as Strange and Sad, But True then Sorta should be a great record. But, then again, most of their records are great.
The only odd thing about it is the choice of venue. Albrecht's memorial concert was held at the Granada...why not have it there? --Lance Lester

"tough last couple years" is not really accurate. Carter was killed on Labor Day last year. almost a year ago, to the day.
the previous year was FANTASTIC. their best year ever.
"most of their records are great" ...
this is #2. S&SBT was #1.
and yeah. odd choice of venue.
shoulda been Sons of Hermann Hall.
my quite biased opinion there.
Long Live SORTA, Carter Danny Trey Chris DrumTrey & Carrie
PS - the CD is FANTASTIC !!!
