Vans Warped Tour Sets Dallas Line-up. First Impression? Lackluster!

Categories: DFW Music News
Yeah, but them's some fine kicks right there, Darryl...

You know that a touring festival is in trouble when one of the best acts on the bill is local.

Looking at the just-announced lineup for this year’s Dallas stop of the Vans Warped Tour, it’s hard to get overly excited about any of it. I mean, I’m glad that the touring buses run on biodiesel and all, but besides our own Forever the Sickest Kids, who else on the list below makes you want to fork out the big bucks to sweat off a few pounds come the tour's July 3rd Dallas date?

And why does the promoter refer to this festival as a “traveling punk rock summer camp”? Please, tell me, of the bands listed after the jump, which would you honestly describe as punk?

I mean, hell, you might as well add the Foo Fighters to this bill. Oh wait--they're already on the subpar Austin City Limits Festival lineup... --Darryl Smyers
