Cowboys Go 'Top Model' at Anonymous Runway Exhibit
The event was a collaboration between The Anonymous Art Gallery (TAAG) and local designer Jeanette Antolin. The ideas was to fuse art, fashion and sports by using the athletes as models. Female models carried various artwork as they sashayed through the terminal. The athletes, on the other hand, brought their own personal flair to poses, such as Carpenter seductively twisting the ends of his mustache during one pose.
The men's clothes were casual and classic; while the women wore black dresses -- serving more as moving artwork displays than models. The overall event was very laid back, and the athletes and designers mingled with the guests (and were very open for photos).
Quincy Butler, cornerback for the Cowboys, came out to support his teammates. He said he considered the event an opportunity to brush up on his fashion sense.
“I like a couple of the designers in it,” he added. “I thought this would be a good opportunity to see how the older guys dress.”
Proceeds from the show went toward enhancing public school art programs and educating students on careers in art.
Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment of the evening was the anonymous celebrity guest DJ who never made an appearance. However with complimentary Malibu Rum and Seagram’s Apple Twisted Gin (both sponsors of the event) flowing freely everyone enjoyed the evening regardless. -- Erica Hoff
