When I was working my way through my 100 Favorite Dishes I received many emails with list after list of recommendations. Some of them were good, and some were terrible, but it was definitely fun to explore Dallas through my readers' eyes.

I didn't get through all of the recommendations, so when I drove past Mike Anderson's BBQ the other day on the way to a taco restaurant, a brisket-stuffed jalepeño vision flashed before my eyes. "Screw tacos," I thought, and made a hard right off of Harry Hines and into the parking lot. It was only supposed to be a minor diversion.

Down at SXSW this past week, which was pretty well Cool Ranchified with junk-food advertisements, one of the day parties was sponsored by The Bell. They were giving away free Doritos Locos tacos by the crate. Sounds fantastic, right?

The problem, of course, is the Doritos Locos taco shells carry the same flavor as the top flap of a Banker's Box®. There are only so many a person can tolerate sober. And so, Taco Bell, I say you are doing it wrong.

Cruising Reddit's glorious food page this morning illuminates who's doing it very, very right. The above, of course: The Bacon Taco Shell. Can't you just hear the crisp bite through the bacon? Taco Bell 0, Random Person on Reddit 1.
