In honor of the third season of the hit TV show Dallas, Southfork Bottling Co. is teaming up with Warner Bros. to launch a new whiskey. J.R. Ewing Bourbon, inspired by the fictional Texas tycoon and shrewd businessman, can be found on retailer shelves everywhere by the end of March.
"Creating a brand of such high quality is reflective of J.R.'s thirst for the best in life," said Andy Harmon, co-founder of Southfork Bottling Co., in a news release. Distilled in the heart of Kentucky's bourbon country, the 4-year-old, 80-proof light amber-colored bourbon is the perfect spirit for sipping while enjoying your favorite show.
And just what is Southfork Bottling Co., you ask? It was formed in 2013 as the official bottler of J.R.'s boozy, barrel-aged namesake. And who is the distiller? There isn't one, but master blender Henrik Facile worked with major distilleries in Kentucky to create the whiskey.
J.R. Ewing bourbon is good on the rocks after a long day of pumping dollar signs out of the ground with your bare hands. Drink J.R. Ewing bourbon neat as a way to celebrate the successful auction of this year's herd of beef cattle. Or enjoy J.R. Ewing bourbon as a mixer for your favorite bourbon cocktail, preferably while wearing your alligator skin boots and 10-gallon hat.
Bourbon was the drink of choice for Dallas' legendary character J.R. Ewing, so make J.R. Ewing the drink of choice for you.
Please enjoy J.R. Ewing bourbon responsibly.
