Twelve Stones, Chef-Driven and Locally Focused, Opens Today in Flower Mound

Twelve Stones
Flower Mound is getting a new chef-driven, locally focused restaurant this week. Twelve Stones Restaurant, New American Cuisine, is set to open today at 1221 Flower Mound Road at the Pines of Flower Mound.

Chef David Burdick left a two-decade career in IT to work over fire. His résumé includes stints at Suze and Dragonfly, and now he's ready to branch out on his own. Burdick hired local firm Hatsumi Kuzuu, which is also responsible for FT-33, The LOT and Sissy's, to create a "refined, industrial farm space" in the restaurant.

The menu includes standard protein dishes like beef tenderloin surf and turf, bone-in pork chop, roasted chicken breast, salmon, red snapper and sea scallops. There's a butcher's block that ranges from a 5-ounce filet to a 20-ounce bone-in ribeye. "Enhancements" include creamed corn, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and yellow squash casserole.

The black pepper cheesecake on the dessert menu is a black pepper-infused cheesecake with an Oreo crust, with candied peppers and smoked jalapeño raspberry sauce. Mom's Bread Pudding comes with candied bacon and maple coffee ice cream. They also have a full-service bar along with craft beer and wine.

For now Twelve Stones will be open Tuesday through Saturday for happy hour and dinner; lunch and brunch are down the road.

Over priced, horrible service! It took 30 minutes just to get a drink, an hour and a half to get our entree's, the GM is a pretentious jerk who knows nothing about fine dining, then again I wouldn't call twelve stones fine dining. Their chef is two seconds away from believing he can walk on water, and from our table I could hear him yelling and cursing out his wait staff. The wine list is a joke. Their shrimp and avocado grits was good, but it comes with only 3 shrimp!

Your way better off going to Ruth Chris, or hibiscus. You would much rather drive to Dallas then deal with 12 stones. I tried them not once but TWICE!! High hopes with an epic let down.

Food is decent , their GM is a pretentious jerk, their chef treats their employees horribly and in my case, I could hear him cursing out their waitstaff from our table. Our drinks took 30 minutes to get, our entree's took an hour and a half and it's way over prices. Don't waste your time, go to Ruth Chris or hibiscus instead.

Flower Mound? Wonder what's the price point & if it'll do well in the 'burbs.
