The LOT Opens, J. Pepe's Tex Mex Closes and More Restaurant Happenings from February
Another busy month has come and gone and with it a handful of restaurants have opened and closed. Read on for the full list of restaurants happenings in February, and be sure to share tips about new and/or dead restaurants in the comments section below or at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The LOT (7530 E. Grand Ave.): The East Dallas restaurant and beer garden opened near the Santa Fe Trail in the enormous space that once housed the Backyard Beach Bar.
Belly & Trumpet (3407 McKinney Ave.): The upscale restaurant, that foodbitch describes as being adored with "lush, plum walls dotted with sexy, mysterious art" took over the small space on McKinney where Bowery used to reside.
Peak & Elm (132 N. Peak St.): This Mexican restaurant opened on the outskirts of Deep Ellum early last month.
Lake House Bar and Grill (7510 E. Northwest Highway): This bar and grill located at the corner of Northwest Highway and Lawther Drive is open, and according to Lauren Daniels, is serving up "street tacos, fried calamari, flat breads with Jimmy's sausage, grilled chicken sandwiches, steak sandwiches and different daily specials."
Pop Diner (3600 McKinney Ave.): The 24-hour diner in the West Village is open and serving everything from a Coney dog topped with Detroit chili to a rib-eye steak Philly cheese steak.
Hofmanns Hots (340 Singleton Blvd.): Dallas-based Zaccanelli Food Group opened Hofmann's Hots, a hot dog restaurant, in Trinity Groves. It's the first of "many locations" planned.
Rosemont (2912 Elm St.): Tracy Miller's breakfast and lunch spot in Deep Ellum abruptly shut its doors.
Crystal's Pizza & Spaghetti: The Irving location of the "pizzeria" is closed. Forever. Wah.
J. Pepe's Tex Mex (3619 Greenville Ave.): The 25-year-old Greenville restaurant is no longer serving pool-side nachos, or anything else for that matter.
The Blind Butcher: The guys behind Goodfriend are opening a restaurant on Lower Greenville.
Del Frisco's: The steakhouse chain plans to open two new are locations this year.
