After a few months off, the White Rock Local Market kicks off the season with the first market at the new location Garland Road at the Lakeside Baptist Church. The East Dallas market is expanding as the Dallas Farmers Market continues to evaluate redevelopment plans for the downtown area.

Organizer Sara Perry says everything is in order for what she's expecting to be a great season. Saturday's kick off will feature local food trucks including Simply Dosa, Ruthie's Rolling Truck, Rock 'n Roll Tacos, Easy Slider and the Bacon Lover's Truck and live music from The Dave Burris Group. This weekend is also feature arts and crafts in addition to the local farmers, growers and artisans as well as arts and crafts.

The White Rock Local Market was awarded Best Farmers Market last year for it's devotion to local farmers. Artisans, farmers and ranchers featured at the market are located within 150 miles and include JuHa Ranch, Alpha Omega Farms, Good Earth Organic Farm, Hollyberry Herb Farm, Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters, the Grazed Beef Co-op and more. Perry says Deep Ellum-based Mozzerlla Co. has just signed on as well.

White Rock Local Market is open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. from March 2-December 8. The first and third Saturdays of the month markets will be located at Lakeside Baptist Church, 9051 Garland Road. Markets on the second and fourth Saturdays at the Green Spot are located at 702 N. Buckner Blvd.
