A Valentine's Day gift set actually worth tracking down, other than those tent sales in front of gas stations and grocery stores ... Pogo's Wine & Spirits has a gift set that includes Casa Dragones tequila paired with custom-made perique truffles from Dude, Sweet Chocolate. You can also get the fancy handcrafted crystal decanter personalized for you or your loved one. (I vote you.) The pairing is on sale now at Pogo's and the Valentine's Day personalization event is from 3 - 7 p.m. tomorrow.

The Gin Mill on Henderson is having a four local brewers dinner (DEBC, Peticolas, Four Corners and Revolver) and one winery (Times Ten Cellars) on Valentine's Day. Purchase tickets for the beer dinner at GinMillDallas.com on the events page (which is the blue fireplace on the left. Weird, I know. You'll see though.) The four-course dinner is $60 per person. After dinner you get to pick one local brewer to make out with.

Saturday, February 16
The 13th Annual Mardi Gras Texas Style party is this weekend with 28 bands on five stages.

Sunday, February 17
Angie Martin, garden manager at Garden Café, will host a "Seeds and Companion Planting" workshop. The session starts at 1 p.m. and is $10 per person.

Tuesday, February 19
The Greater Dallas Restaurant Association is hosting a Mystery Dine Around Tuesday. This moveable mystery feast has six secret stops, which you'll be shuttled to in a motor coach "stocked with complimentary adult beverages," along with games, prizes and entertainment. Tickets are $50 per member; $60 for non-members and the buses leave at 6 p.m. (you need to be there at 5). Email cdavis@gdra.org or call 972-671-4372 to RSVP. Deadline to register is Friday.

Winemaker Mel Master will be at MAX's Wine Dive at 7 p.m. for a chit-chat and complimentary wine tasting that includes a collection of wines specifically blended for the Uptown restaurant, including Max et Jacques Chardonnay, Max et Jacques Pinot Noir, Chez Jerome Cab/Syrah, Chez Jerome Marsanne/Viognier and Tortoise Creek Rose. The tasting is free.

Don't forget about FT-33's Swine and Wine Tuesdays, a happy hour event every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with pork-themed snacks paired with beer, wine and cocktails.

Since there are no cat parks may I bring a tiger to the dog park?
