Chef Brian Luscher of the The Grape and a flock of other great Dallas chefs are collaborating for the 5th annual Soup's On!, which is a starched-pants luncheon featuring lots of soup. Chefs participating include Bruno Davaillon on the Mansion, Jason Maddy of Oak, Nathan Tate of Boulevardier, Randall Copeland of Restaurant Ava, Janice Provost of Parigi, Anastasia Qiuñones of Komali and Abraham Salum.

This is all to benefit The Stewpot Alliance, which is a safe haven for the homeless and at-risk. The organization offers job training, street outreach for drug and alcohol addiction, health and legal aid and other services aimed at attaining self-sufficiency.

Proceeds from the luncheon also go towards the 508 Park Project, which is a historic building across from the The Stewpot that is used as a multi-use music and art academy.

The luncheon is the coming Tuesday, January 29, at the Omni and includes an art sale from the artists of the Stewpot Open Art Programs. The keynote speaker is Wes Moore, author of The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates. There will also be performances by The Dallas Wind Symphony and the Booker T. Washington for the Performing and Visual Arts varsity choir.

So far, Soups On! has raised more than $900,000 for The Stewpot Alliance.
