Ascension Coffee Opens, Monica Greene Says Goodbye to Monica's Nueva Cocina and More from December

Another busy month has come and gone and with it a handful of restaurants have opened. Read on for the full list and be sure to share tips about new and/or dead restaurants in the comments section below or at dish@dallasobserver.com.

Openings:

Ascension Coffee (1621 Oak Lawn Ave.): The new coffee shop located in the Design District boasts a "$20,000 espresso machine."

III Forks Steakhouse and Teavana (3200 E. Airfield Drive): Both restaurants have opened locations at the DFW International Airport.

Babb Brothers BBQ & Blues (400 Bedford St.): The first restaurant in the new Trinity Groves project opened in early December.

Meso Maya (1611 McKinney Ave.): The new Meso Maya location is serving upscale Tex-Mex.

La Ventana (1611 McKinney Ave.): This new restaurant is adjacent to the new Meso Maya location, right by the new Perot Museum.

Nazca Kitchen (8041 Walnut Hill Lane): This new restaurant offers "A fresh take on South American Cuisine", or at least that's what it says on their brightly colored menu.

DIGG's Taco Shop (445 S. Pecan St.): The Taco joint has opened a second location, in Arlington, right by UTA.

The Londoner (2817 Greenville Ave.): The Greenville Avenue location of the British Pub is now open where Rohst used to be.


Closings:

Monica's Nueva Cocina (4123 Cedar Springs road): Earlier this month, Monica Greene announced on her Facebook page that she's no longer affiliated with Monica's Nueva Cocina.


Coming Soon:

Chop House Burgers: The burger joint is scheduled to open a second location in Mansfield.
