New Rodeo Goat Brings More House-Ground Burgers to DFW

If you're thinking about opening up a burger restaurant in the area, you better be ready to step up your game. Another casual beer and burger joint called Rodeo Goat Ice House has opened near Fort Worth's Cultural District and they're grinding the meat for their burgers in house every day.

Burger restaurants have been sprouting up all over Dallas but most of them purchase ground meat from processing facilities. Restaurants that actually grind their beef on site are a bit of a rarity.

Hopdoddy, the new restaurant out of Austin, grinds their meat on premise in addition to baking their own buns fresh every day. Boulevardier grinds their own meat, but you have to pay $14 to get a burger there. Rodeo Goat, on the other hand, charges $9 for a burger topped with an entire delicatessen.

There's beer, of course. The bar offers everything from local, craft brews from Peticolas, Live Oak and more, to Budweiser and Coors. You can find them near at 2836 Bledsoe St. in Fort Worth.

Rodeos are a ghastly abomination; animal abuse and cruelty are unacceptable.

Do you have tourettes?  What the sam hell does that have to do with this non-review?  BTW, I likey the Rodeo, and will be taking the lil ones down to the FW stockshow rodeo for atleast one matinee.

Can't wait for FWSS&R!

Although we rarely get a chance to visit, Mrs. Hulk and I love us some Ft. Worth - and the stock Show in particular.

We also always stop in for some good tex-mex at El Asadero right down from the stockyards.

Rodeo Goat....

I'm almost afraid to look that term up on the Urban Dictionary.

Why hasn't one of y'all been there if theres a writeup?Good bit of knowledge on the grind their own, I've been trying to figure out why I'd jack with them when Fred's is right there..this is the only reason I've read from the bunches of reviews of the joint. Me and the much better half will be there about 2pm on Friday, come by and I'll buy you a cervesa..(if you can find West 7th!)

@Joshsbrokendisqus Have never understood the appeal and enthusiasm for Fred's. Good burgers but easy to find much better fare elsewhere.

Burgers were better prior to last couple of fires..methinks they changed their meat a few years back.  Also used to be able to get a cfs sammich that covered a plate, also not the same since it's the high rent district built up around them.  In closing: Beer mainly, but about 5 years ago (pre-constrution and pre-babies for me!) that place was the bomb.

@scott.reitz @Nictacular This place is legit. Nice space, open kitchen, full bar, great patio, and a burger that will wreck your face. It's right around the corner from Fred's, and Fred better watch his shit...
