With a $20 donation to the North Texas Food Bank, which equates to 60 meals, you and all your adult-like friends can crawl through the tubes at the Neiman Marcus in downtown. Yes, it's real: Adult Crawl Night. And perhaps the first event ever named a crawl that actually involves crawling. The party is from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday, December 21
A Hopocalypse Party is going down at the Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House. Deep Ellum Brewing Company will pour the first frothy pints of their latest and potentially last beer, Darkest Hour, a rye imperial stout weighing in at a hefty 11 percent ABV. Additionally six other IPA's will be showcased, including Sixpoint Resin, Southern Star Pro Am, Breckenridge 471 and Stone Enjoy by 12-21-12. Fry Bingo will hit the stage at 10 p.m.
The Bottle Shop has received a vanilla bean enhanced firkin of Ten Fidy from the Oskar Blues Brewery, a "titantic, immensely viscous stout with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee," with a namesake 10.5 percent ABV. Ten Fidy will be tapped at 6:00 p.m.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will present A Creole Christmas this Friday night at 8:30 p.m. at The Live Oak Music Hall and Lounge in Deep Ellum, with a special creole dinner from Chef Dat. RSVP at email@example.com. $75 per person for the meal. Here's more info on the show.
Scardello wants to make sure all their great cheese doesn't turn into huge piles of queso and fondu come Friday, so they're throwing a party to try to eat it all. Well, maybe not all of it. But, for $45 you can make sure you spend eternity in the fiery pits of whatever the Mayans have set up, knowing that good cheese and wine was your last meal. Call 214-219-1300 to make a reservation for End of the World Cheese Party.
