Teresa Gets-it-Done Gubbins at Culture Map once again pulled a coup on Dallas restaurant scoop by breaking official intraweb news this morning of a second Il Cane Rosso location. Yes, a second red dog pizza parlor, with another custom-made Stefano Ferrara oven, which has already been delivered.

Jay Jerrier's new spot is at the northwest corner of Gaston and Grand is planned to open in the Spring of 2013. According to Cane Rosso White Rock Facebook page, there's "lots of space," including a 3,000 square foot tree-covered patio in front. This spot will have also have tap wall, private event space and, hold your breath, a salumi and cheese bar.

CR in walking distance - now that's dangerous.  Think that's the SW corner of Gaston and Grand next to Mexico Lindo?

Coal Vines in Plano is exceptional too, in Shops of Legacy.

i appreciate the food-writer circle jerk as much as the next hungry guy, but calling this " pulled a coup on Dallas restaurant  scoop by breaking official intraweb news" is pretty weak, it was on their facebook page last friday.  Pretty sure you should pre-date the official announcement if you want to use that much hyperbole.

I drive through this intersection every day, and I don't recognize the building in the picture.  Northwest corner is the quadrant that includes the YMCA, correct?  Don't know of anything with a 3,000-ft. patio either.  I'll have to pay better attention next time I roll by.

Hopefully it will be a popular enough to overcome the location, which has turned into the graveyard for many businesses.

 @G_David

 Go farther down, closer to the intersection of Gaston and Garland, that shopping center that seems to never have taken off.

 @Willie Not for Tacos el Banqueta's second location a stones throw away on Gaston. They're always busy.

 @beda50 I thought of that, but that's on the south side of Gaston.  That is one of the saddest retail developments ever.
