Despite Google Aquisition, Zagat Still Feels Like it's Stuck in the Stone Age

Oh, Zagat. I was really hoping this new Google acquisition would update what's become a rather stale form of restaurant evaluation. Last year I published a blog post that listed their five most popular restaurants and noted these establishments have sat on top of Zagat's polls for years.
This year's list?
Exactly the same....
Abacus
Fearing's
Al Biernat's
Stephan Pyles
Del Frisco's
While all of these restaurants are great places to eat, the list is as one-dimensional as it is stagnant. The DFW area offers so much more than high-end steak houses with triple-digit checks. Hopefully Zagat's lists will eventually reflect that.
