One of the many events during during Dallas Beer Week
"Beer drinkers, this is the most important week of your life." So goes the tag line for Dallas Beer Week, which runs from this Saturday to November 17. (Beer weeks actually have eight days, no explanation needed).

The goal of Dallas Beer Week (DBW) is to orchestrate a massive craft-beer coup at local bars and eateries. For craft-beer drinkers or admirers, it's an opportunity to explore new beers, meet fellow hopheads and hopefully at the end of each night when you snuggle in your bed, your last thought will be, "Finally, beer and people that get me."

I spoke with Cathy Clark Rascoe, one of the main organizers of the DBW (and Houston Beer Week, which runs at the same time) and she had to raise a toast to the local 30-plus-member committee that has helped pull together this brew-ha-ha, almost doubling the number of events since last year.

There are more than 86 swilling opportunities on the DBW calendar. Here are just a few of the highlights.
