Teresa Gubbins over at Culture Map just broke some news on the new food truck park going in across from a (future) Trader Joe's on Lower Greenville. Chef Jason Boso, of Twisted Root fame, has been tapped as "boss" of the food truck park, and he'll work on pulling together all the details.

Boso, who has dabbled in many projects since Twisted Root was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, will also open a new fast-casual cheese steak restaurant that will anchor the food truck park.

According to the interview, the goal is to have trucks in the park every day of the week for both lunch and dinner. The anticipated opening is May 2013.

May 2013... so in Dallas time, we'll see the food truck park in 2015?

Still can't believe the allowed a Wal-Mart in there. Just ruins the entire future of the neighborhood.

The solution to having Wal-Mart in the neighborhood is.....just don't look at it. It's really no worse than the 7-11 on one corner, and the liquor store on the other.  I'm wondering if it's really the clientle of the Wal-Mart that is so offensive to everyone....

I don't think patrons of the LIBERTINE will have to find new parking spots any time soon. Food trucks might be cool to grab a bite...as I live only a block away, but I just dont see it happening. If it actually materializes, it certainly will be better than another dive or "lounge".

At least there seems to be a hint of work starting on construction of Trader Joes. Demolition of an old building is now finished for the parking lot.
