Cedars Food Truck Park Cancels Thursday Events - Focuses on Friday Nights
Brad Friedman with the Cedars Food Park has decided to cancel the weekly Thursday food truck events at Dallas Heritage Village, effective immediately. Instead he's going to focus on building the Friday night events, making them bigger and better, and hosting other large-scale and "pop-up" events at the park.
"Our goal is to keep regular service," Friedman wrote in an email, "so the foodies can count on their Friday night food truck fix, but also to build, plan and market corporate events, large special events and unique "pop-up" events. We have a great facility for these special events and want to take advantage of it."
Friedman brought food trucks to the tree-covered lawns of the Dallas Heritage Village in late July in a move that made us all ponder, why didn't we think of this? The landscape is the perfect setting -- bands pick at guitars on the lawns while food trucks line up along the sidewalks under trees and cold beer is poured in the old saloon.
But, for better or worse, Dallas Heritage Park is booked most weekends for weddings and corporate events. So, regular food truck events take place during the week.
Just in August, Friedman began regular Thursday night service, but since then has realized it was more work than he anticipated. Friedman said that Thursday drew a regular crowd, but it was straining trying to run his other businesses and manage two weekly services at the park.
So, Friday nights it is. Follow the Cedars Food Park Facebook page for details.
