Comedian Josh Sankey Traveling Across the Country Using Bacon as Currency

Comedian Josh Sankey has two weeks to travel from New York City to Los Angeles with nothing but bacon as his currency. His wallet has been emptied of credit cards and cash, and instead Sankey has refrigerated trailer with 3,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer Butcher Thick Cut Bacon to barter for all his expenses, including gas, food and lodging.

Think he'll make it?

Last night around 11:09 p.m. he was in Hagerstown, MD and tweeted "Looking for a place to crash ... anybody got a couch for me?"

How many bricks of bacon would it take for you to loan out your couch and privacy to a comedian? In all honesty, knowing all that's involved and who's backing it, I'd probably do it for ten bricks.

His first barter was for a physic reading. But, he's since done better with six bricks for a pair of Jets tickets (P-I-G-S! PIGS! PIGS! PIGS!), and 1 brick for a jar bacon jam, then another brick for some empanadas.

You can follow the pork escapades through on Bacon Barter and on Twitter.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like he's coming through Texas.

I once attempted to cross the Andes Mountains using only Honeycomb cereal as currency.

I made it as far as Poughkeepsie.

You tell that dern comedian guy that we in these parts barter with brisket.......what 's better than "securing" some old heifer, with some burnt ends, or better yet-pulled pork?
