Today is National Tequila Day: Free Shots and More Ways to Celebrate

Are the food and beverage holidays getting old? Does it feel forced sometimes? For the most part, it seems we all benefit. Free pie, chicken-fried steak and now free tequila shots. No harm in that, right?
Well today, July 24, is National Tequila Day. La Calle Doce in Oak Cliff is giving out free shots (tastings) and appetizers from 7 to 10 p.m.
Urban Taco is "showcasing" its boutique collection from 6 to 9 p.m. An ambassador will be on hand to answer your highly evolved tequila palate questions from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Hacienda on Henderson will have tequila tastings starting at 7 p.m., and mariachis at 8 p.m., including some food specials throughout the night.
And just as a heads up, Asador in the Renaissance Hotel has a "tequila bar" every day of the year with more than 100 boutique tequilas and a bevy of house-made seasonal margaritas made from fresh juices, herbs and spices. Their tequila bar program is awesome.
