The online reservation and restaurant review site OpenTable.com released a list of the Top 100 Scenic View Dining restaurants, which is based on some 5 million opinions over the past year.

As a complete surprise, nothing along the scenic northern part of the LBJ Freeway made it. Unbelievable, right? (I pity the travelers from DFW who fly in and drive east to see that part of the city first thing. Next list: Top 100 Restaurants that Look Like a War Zone.)

Actually, Dallas did make the list with Wolfgang Puck's Five Sixty that takes diners on a slow 360 atop Reunion Tower. But, almost every city's sky-high circular restaurants made the list.

Then, there are places like Seven Glaciers in Alaska. And Sarento's at the Top of the "I" in Honolulu. Or Canlis in Seattle (below).

San Francisco dominates with six on the list, not including the view of SF from the Spinnaker at the tip of Sausalito.

In Texas there's the Steiner Ranch, which overlooks Lake Travis. This steakhouse has three levels, four bars and several patio dining options.

San Antonio made the list with the Chart House Restaurant atop the Tower of Americas.

It's easy to waste half your day perusing the list of restaurants and will make you think: What's the most beautiful restaurant you've ever eaten at? Stateside.

The view from the restaurant at the Lodge at Queen Wilamena State Park in Arkansas is one of the finest anywhere!  Closely followed by Inn of the Mountain Gods in New Mexico.

@Stan What is better than looking at a drainage ditch while your eating?  I pity people in :

-Arlington

-Garland

-near Lake Ray Hubbard

.......I would say Lake Lavon, but  thankfully nobody lives out that way, and they dern sure don't have scenic view.

ps-I like the Sneeky Pete's view of the dried up lake, empty bottles and off duty strippers-yum!  We ate at the brunch one time, and the stench from the lake and the hookers almost made me barf.

@kergo1spaceship Lake Lewisville is sewer water. Try not to accidentally breath with your mouth open around there.
