No, you're not a loser if you move back in with Mom and Dad. It's sweet. Really. Sometimes we all need a little help to get us from one exciting adventure to the next.

And KFC evidently thinks it can provide for some pretty funny stories. So KFC has partnered with Comedy Central and "created the original digital series and contest Growing Up and Getting Out." And they're looking at you, millennials, who are moving back home to live with your parents at the rate of one in four.

The website, FreeRentContest, launched today and the "Basement Generation" (isn't it a stretch to condemn an entire generation based on one in four?) is asked to submit their hilarious moving back home stories. Five winner-winner-chicken-dinners will then be chosen by a panel of judges and will receive one year of free rent, which they figure to be $12,500, plus $600 in KFC gift checks (that'd be enough for about 150 Original Recipe Bits meals).

There are already five stories loaded up and a couple of them actually are pretty funny, including a crop-dusting grandma and parents renaming themselves Minerva Stardust and Cheswick Trickletip.

I still don't get the connection between one in four moving back home and Original Recipe. Doesn't matter. It's the bird.

All it is doing is mocking the degradation of a good, and productive society. I get that people sometimes need help, but being lazy is not yet classified as a disease.....well, not yet. As for people with kids that need help, my heart goes out to them; kids should never suffer. Ever.

Seen this scenario firsthand; and at first it makes you chuckle.  Then it makes you mad.  I once had a guy who's mom called me, and bitched for twenty minutes he didn't get a 15 minute break (in addition to his OTHER 15 minute break, and his lunch break), and then told me she was going to call the cops on me. Not OSHA, but the cops!

We have a son who has gone through so much and really needs a place for him and his 12 yr old son.  I am so disappointed that KFC feels they need to help Jokers verses though who are really in need.

Totally agree with you. Spouse had a staff of 400 +/- employees. When a millenial got the sniffles mom would call them in sick. And if one was given a less than favorable review, mom called to argue it. There have even been parents who accompanied their 25+yo 'kid' on a job interview. Insane.

Kids today are frickin' entitled babies;  who wants live with the parents?  I moved out when I went to college, and never looked back. Do you think your parents want you to move back in?  Really?!  Get a GOOD job, or A second job.  Stop worrying about "kick ass shit", and other ways to do freaking nothing.  This subject is really not that fuunny to me.........it shows how badly this great society has eroded.  Back in WW2, kids as young as 14 were going over yonder to fight-and die, and these days your 26 year old can barely change a tire. Sad.  ps-What's funnier than a mid twenties bum sponging off his parents, while he chugs Natty light all day?
