Cafe Brazil announced the closure of their McKinney location at the end of the month. They were unable to negotiate a lease renewal with their landlord and decided to permanently close their doors instead. The restaurant has been serving up chicken fried steak and eggs, migas, pancakes and other breakfast food things for the past seven years.

Brant Wood bought the chain back in 2004 when it had six restaurants, with a goal of doubling that number in five years. They made it to 11, but the recent closure knocks them back to 10 remaining locations. Wood hopes to reopen the store in a new building soon. The McKinney location will serve its last sauce soaked crepes Sunday, July 29.

I REALLY excite to follow this.  Even though I will never understand clubbed meat that is deep fried.

the Cafe Brazil in McKinney sucked anyway...the people who worked there were rude and they were not open the same hours as other Cafe Brazil locations...and on top of that, the coffee at most locations is beginning to taste like colored water and those dispensers they use keep the coffee tepid at best

Chicken fried steak. It's on my list of things I'll never understand........ like collecting shrunken Indian heads.

Scott Reitz -- who did your fact checking?   Cafe Brazil doesn't have a location ON McKinney Avenue.  They do, however, have one IN McKinney (hint:  the city of McKinney is about 35 miles north of McKinney Avenue in Dallas).
