Pho Colonial on Frankford Road is Closed

SideDish reported that Pho Colonial on Frankford Road closed its doors for good yesterday, which just opened a little over a year ago. Slow traffic seems to have been the culprit for the southern Vietnamese street food spot, even though recently Jose Ralat Maldonado with CBS listed it as one of the DFW's "pho-tastic offerings."

Nichols noted courtroom drama between the two co-owners who are now suing each other.

The Pho Colonial at 1623 Main Street is still open and ready to fill your hungry belly with a big bowl of pho.

This place was so overrated.  The problem with it was that anybody who regularly eats pho knows where to get it better and cheaper elsewhere.  Pho Mac is great, a little closer to Frankford, try Pho Apple on Parkwood just south of Park.

"Slow traffic was the culprit" And what causes slow traffic? Pho Colonial's food.

It's cause they used LEMONS instead of LIMES. GAH.

I didn't like the pho broth when I tried the one downtown.

Bleh, good riddance I say! That broth had too much sugar in it.

I was underwelmed by this spot.  The corner is troubled...and I thought Burger Extreme was great...yet nothing seems to last in that strip center.

Anybody got Pho recommendations around there ?

Not too far--but Pho Mac @ Independence and Parker is simply amazing.  The pho with brisket is the way to go.  Not the most amazing ambiance, but the broth is outstanding.
