Super H Mart in Carrollton
Via the Dallas Business Journal, the Asian supermarket chain H Mart has signed a lease for a 70,000+ square foot facility in the Parker Town Centre in Plano. This will be their second local store - the other is on Old Denton Road in Carrollton.

H Mart is garnered a solid following for their vast produce selection, (sometimes scary) fresh meats and authentic foods, not to mention the bakery.

DBJ had this quote: ""It was our 23rd store that we opened, and we had no idea that there was such a high Asian population until we started to look into the ..."

Curse you, paywalls!

I called the company, and they won't say when they plan to open. We'll update as soon as we hear anything.

The HMart in Carrollton has the best produce for the lowest prices, period.  We're regulars there.  The food court rocks, too.  I also pick up international goodies there.  They have an aisle of stuff that isn't Korean OR American.  I'm hooked on 'shooshkas', little circular sweet pretzel/cookies from Moldova.

You go on, grab lunch/dinner from the food court, grab a sweet drink from Escape to sip while you shop, sample exotic and strange foods while you walk around (Sundays are best for this), grab a bunch of food for a great price, then snag dessert from the Tous Les Jours bakery on the way out.  Foodie paradise.

I love these!  The 99 Market by the house is awesome-they have EVERYTHING.  I look forward to this.

Guessing this is going in where the old Minyard's was.  They're gonna want to take down the Alamo facade.

Oh and this is ten minutes from where I live, which is awesome.  Score another one for the burbs bitches!

How dumb are they? Plano has a large Asian population and multiple Asian supermarkets do extremely well. They'll probably be no exception.
