Maple and Motor, Il Cane Rosso Get the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives Treatment in April

Burgermeister Jack Perkins announced via Facebook yesterday that the Food Network will be airing the Maple and Motor-featured episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on Monday, April 9, at 9 p.m.

The gloriously douchey (But somehow still lovable? No? Just me?) Guy Fieri tore through Dallas in late 2011 and stopped by other Dallas staples, including Il Cane Rosso, Pecan Lodge, Chop House Burgers in Arlington, Pepe's and Mito's and Good 2 Go Taco.

This was his second tour through the Big D, after he spotlighted Chef Point Cafe and Deep Ellum's Twisted Root in 2009. He was also the spokesdude for Dallas-based Carlson Restaurants' flagship chain T.G.I. Fridays. Dough-flinger Jay Jerrier also announced this week the date of Cane Rosso's episode, which will air on April 30. No word yet on the debut of the other episodes featuring local spots, but get busy stuffing your faces with juicy burgers and Neapolitan pizza before all hell breaks loose.

Went to Pecan Lodge and Il Cane Rosso in the last 10 days. Both excellent.

My favorite thing about Maple & Motor is the hastily-printed handbill on the front door that reads "NOBODY CAME HEAR TO LISTEN YOU YOUR CHILDREN..." or something of that nature.  Even provides directions to Purple Cow.

And so, they had me before I even walked in.

Ugh.  Just thinking about going to those places after him is like being with Carmen Electra knowing she'd been with Rodman.  Just... gross.

These guys went into business and I'm sure one of their goals is to besuccessful.  For better or worse, beingon Guy Fieri’s television show is one of many signs of their success.  You really can’t put aside whatever it is that is soimportant to you and be happy for them?

Pepe's & Mito's episode already aired a few weeks back.  They were advertising their appearance on the next episode a few weeks ago when I was in there.

I went to Pepe and Mito's only because the food looked very good on Triple D.It was very good but very salty.
