Last year Dallas was going to have its very own beer festival. Then it wasn't. Then it was again. And now, finally, tickets have gone on sale for the April 14 event at Fair Park. General admission tickets are $35, and if you draw the short straw and end up the designated driver you can get in for $20 and not drink any beer while your friends make fun of you. Or your group could use the DART system and all black out together.

VIP tickets are also for sale. At $60 you get to come early and stay late. General admissions doors open at 1 p.m. but VIPs can come at noon. There's also a VIP afterparty at the Deep Ellum Brewing Company for those willing to shell out an extra $30.

Jester King, Rahr & Sons and Deep Ellum Brewing are confirmed attendees but a beer list is not yet available. Chad Montgomery, an organizer for the event, promises there will be something for everyone. Something tells me that's only the case if you're not a fan of Budweiser -- Beer Fest is North Texas' first 100-percent craft-beer-inspired festival, according to the press release.

Food trucks and local music including The O's and Fish Fry Bingo will round out the party. With some good weather, this is shaping up to be a pretty good bash. Get your tickets here.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I would like to see the beer list before I commit though.

This is why Dallas needs a mass transit system to host an event like this, it's too bad the pompous asses  at City hall can't get their asses out of their heads to realize closing DART at 1230 am doesn't work. Instead you get ripped off by taxis that think  you are not from here. Trust me I used to get a lot of complaints from tourists when I used to work at a hotel.

Duh.

Just rent a hotel room by Fair Park......or camp out on a vacant lot.

Hmmmnnn....festival closes at 6:00PM. Pretty sure a 12:30 AM DART shutdown is not going to affect this event.

I'm going to take TRE from your favorite part of the Metromess. Limit my exposure to the man to my county.

They should've asked Better Block to create a "pop-up hotel" for the hammered in one of the other buildings.

Or maybe just stagger over to The Bridge.

That's a great idea. Take the TRE to Victory Station, then get on the Green Line headed to BUCKNER. Get off at Fair Park and you're but a few steps from the building!
