Behold, Shiner's New Wild Hare Ads

• I am wondering about the name of the actor. It looks like that Jim somebody from the old Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom show. Anyone else think that?

• You should also point out that Gambrinus has not had any association with Corono or Modello for many years.

• First I say that Shiner Holiday has too much peach flavoring. You inexplicably respond by saying that it doesnt taste like peach. So I link a beer review site in which every single review, both positive and negative, mention the strong peach flavor. You respond by telling me to get my own opinion. You are either really stupid or maybe you are just impaired from too many daily Shiner products.

• Liked it. Found it in a Target. Does that suddenly make the beer infinitely less cool?

• I like Shiner's label designs better than their beers, which is why I'm kinda disappointed they're going for a fake "indie microbrewery" look for Wild Hare.

• No dum dum, it didn't taste like a peach, that's what the Pyramid peach beer tastes like. So why don't you and your delicate pallete go down to Whole Foods and pick up a bottle of each and learn the difference between notes and a more sanguine taste...

• Agreed on Smokehaus. Only beer I've ever drain poured. Ruby Redbird was OK and would be a good "lake" beer. Look, I don't buy much Shiner at all but I just don't get the all over the map comment. Compared to the crazy things going on in the craft beer world Shiner is a mainstream brewery.

• What do you consider to be regular old Shiner?

• I'm hesitant to try anything new from Shiner because each one I try just tastes like they added something to a regular Shiner. Holiday was a Shiner mixed with Big Peach. Smokehouse was a Shiner with some liquid smoke mixed in. Shiner Blonde was a regular Shiner with a splash of Ozarka. I'll just stick with regular old Shiner and go to Rahr and Saint Arnold for my specialty beers.

• Shiner's original is too damn sweet....and Mervis don't get your panties in such a bunch!

• St Arnold manages to turn out a variety of beers and nails it every time. Shiner gives us Smokehouse and Ruby Redbird, two of the vilest beverages ever invented. Like I said, they're all over the map.

• Nevertheless, you are hesitant to try anything else from Shiner because what is probably their most experimental brews was too sweet for you. A pale ale is one of the most classic styles of beer.......and at this point in the beer world, one of the tamest.  

• Of course I saw on the bottle that it had peach in it, dum dum. But there is a huge difference between hints or notes of peach and a beer that tastes like a godamn peach wine cooler.

• Commercials are kind of humorous. Anybody remember the old Wallace Wildlife show that used to run locally.

• Shiner is owned by Gambrinus. Gambrinus is the company that started the importation of Corona and other Groupo Modelo products in the US.

• Previously Shiner has produced only German varities of beer as that was their heritage. How are they all over the map? They have 6 or so regular lines of beer that are produced year round and then they offer a seasonal specialty beer and also the series that honors their anniversary, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102 last year and now the Wild Hare is 103. Look at the neck of the bottle to see the 103. Hardly any different from the other breweries out there these days.

• It's nice to see a Pale that's not trying to out-Hop other Pales, even with the rabbit theme.

• Which Widmer ale are you referring to?

• Ranger is an India Pale Ale. Not a fair comparison. This is more in line with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

• I love Shiner's stuff. I can't pick a favorite between the original Shiner Bock, the 101, the 102, or the Ruby Redbird. Or hell, the Shiner Black.

• I haven't tried the new one yet, but I generally like Shiner's products. Now their Smokehouse beer may have been one of the worst beers of all time. Like drinking a bottle of liquid smoke.

• SHINER!  Me favorite....so many flavors, so little time.  Try the Smokhaus iff'n you get the chance; and visit the Brewery-good times.  If you don't like Shiner, then get the hell out of Texas.

• Haven't tried this offering, and I'm reluctant.  Shiner's stuff is all over the map nowadays.  I guess you gotta love someone willing to experiment, but it seems like there's no vision or standards to it.

• Definitely easy to drink. Good with pizza. 

• I am very hesitant to try any new beer from Shiner. Their holiday beer tasted like someone took a regular Shiner and mixed it 50/50 with a fucking Big Peach.

• I thought it was pretty darn tasty. Very easy to drink. But I don't think I'll go buy it again. A  6-pack of it was enough for me.

• we got some at Tom Thumb (Arapaho and Shiloh in Garland) on Sunday.  Mild for an 'American' ale but not bad.  It could use a bit (or a lot) more hops.  Do not expect this to be line a Widmer Bros. Ale.

• I liked it better than the Ranger actually. Though, someone on Twitter said it was the "most mild pale ever," which is pretty freaking true.

• I saw this Sunday but didn't grab it. Thoughts anyone? And the commercials? Clever but are they airworthy?
