Gloria's is Expanding to Houston. MILF Alert?

The first bit of news here is that Gloria's is expanding its Salvadorian food empire yet again. The restaurant's website confirms they are scheduled to open their first place in Houston this spring, which would make 14 altogether, including one in Austin.

The second bit of news is that, according to CultureMap.com of Houston, MILFs are the most discerning feature at Gloria's. "The Dallas restaurant invasion heats up: MILF-loved Tex-Mex heading to Midtown," the site reports.

Huh?

Obviously we can rebuff part of that headline. Gloria's ain't Tex-Mex.

And the MILF part? I'm not sure what their research method was, but I would never argue the point of hot ladies sipping margaritas on patios in these parts. I sensed a bitter pattern, though, as I clicked through to another article on CultureMap about Dallas' Burger House and read the first line:

It's taken on faith in Houston that nothing Dallas is, has or does could possibly be better than what we have in H-Town. (Unless you want to win five Super Bowls, but, you know, bygones.)

Ooh, this is awesome. I'll admit that it's been a while since I've been to Gloria's, but I thought Salvadorean-tinged Tex-Mex was pretty fair.

My research on MILFs and Gloria's is based on the fact that my friends who still live in DFW and have kids and new boobs all want me to meet them at Gloria's whenever I'm in town. It's not exactly scientific but the Kickstarter for my MILF research project is really not taking off like I'd hoped.

Because all the expansion Gloria's has done in the Dallas area apparently hasn't made their food mediocre enough. Awesome.

While I respect H-Town for its thriving arts, culture, museum, and public park scenes (They are pretty damned awesome BTW, something Dallas should take note on), I cant say much about its restaurants or its reporting of such. I mean, the only real restaurant people know about H-Town is House Of Pies aka House Of Guys, that doesnt speak much to their culinary scene ;)
