Serendipity 3's French Toast Log: Tastes Better Than Any Other Log
What you might not know about Las Vegas is that it is also home to Serendipity 3, a restaurant that specializes in hangover-cure food that's as big as your face. They started out in New York, but now they're in Vegas. And they should absolutely be in Dallas as soon as possible, pleasethankyou.
When I asked The Twitter which restaurants I should check out while on my trip to Las Vegas, Dallas dessert blogger, Jayme Campbell, immediately recommended Serendipity 3. She told me they served giant donuts. Done.
The morning I went for breakfast (at 2pm), I was too hungover to find the giant donuts on the menu, but I did find the Saints and Sinners French Toast Log. Generally, the word "log" worries me on a menu, as it is usually a pretty fair description of the end product of a meal, but since the words "French" and "toast" and "two fried eggs" were there, too, I took a chance.
This Doucher makes a mean margarita at Mesa Grill in Las Vegas, but there are no logs on his menu. Bummer.
And holy bowl of syrup, I'm glad I did. Not sure if you can tell from the picture I took, but that's a platter, folks. It's not a plate. It's as wide as the table. The fried eggs were oozy, the French toast was fantastic and it was cute that they put berries on the plate and thought I would eat them.
Serendipity 3 is just like an IHOP, only the food's edible. Everyone drop whatever you're doing and start working on getting this restaurant here. We must steal this idea from Vegas. Let's not steal the boob-flyer-hander-outers idea, though. Those dudes are creepy.
Mickey Mouse on The Strip, completely Serendipity 3 food-log wasted.
