The Worst of A-List Dallas' Best List
A-List Dallas recently published this list, called the "BEST of CityVoter Dallas A-List," which is a confusing name for a list, but that's beside my point. The point is, after all the nitpicking we let you guys do of Scott's top five lists, we figured we'd take a crack. 
A-List Just TRY to read these without shaking your head.
Let's start with the "Cheap Eats" category, shall we?
I'm a reasonable person, so I support the choices of Babe's, Flippin' Out (though I prefer them at lunch and they're not quite "cheap"), Barbec's (hello, gargantuan biscuit!), Plucker's (on 50 cent wing night), and even Fuel City (disputed, sure, but still a general area favorite). But you can't tell me that you can find the best cheap sandwich at the Great Outdoors or that the best barbecue is to be had at Sonny Bryan's.
Next I scrolled down to find "Great Meals," pausing only slightly to gasp at the choice of Charming Charlie's for Best Women's Accessories. Oh hell. This list never stood a chance.
Back to "Great Meals." These choices didn't stab me through the stomach at first. Best Brunch is Blue Mesa? More like biggest brunch, but okay. People really like value around these parts. Best Vegetarian redeemed us all a bit with Kalachandji's. I started to feel better. Then I read Best Italian, Tex Mex, Seafood and Chinese. Maggiano's, Mi Cocina, Pappadaux and PF Chang's, respectively. My heart sank four times, deeper and deeper. I tried to imagine how many of the 53,000 votes that were counted in this race toward mediocrity went to those four. This thought left me sad and embarrassed, kinda like I felt after watching the second Sex and the City movie.
A-List Over at A-List, they use the term "great" very, very loosely.
If you voted for any of the mediocrity listed above, you are on probation. I will let you know when you can come out of the corner.
