November was a busy month for restaurant owners in Dallas, with several spots opening and a few closing their doors. Read on for the full slate, and be sure to share tips about restaurant openings or closings in the comments section below or at dish@dallasobserver.com.

Openings:

Del Frisco's Grille (3232 McKinney Ave.): Located in One McKinney Plaza, the 8,350 square-foot restaurant serves up everything from cheese steak eggrolls and ahi tuna tacos to steaks, schnitzel and meatloaf. They also boast an extensive wine and cocktail list.

Mr. Mesero (4444 McKinney Ave.): Local restaurateur Mico Rodriguez (think Mi Cocina) opened the mostly-Mexican restaurant last month in the old Burger Girl spot on McKinney Ave.

Jandro's (703 McKinney Ave.): A mysterious press release showed up at the Observer headquarters last month announcing the grand opening of the new Mexican food restaurant located in the West End. A visit revealed what looks to be more of a club. Time will tell.

Campo Modern Bistro (1115 N. Beckley Ave.): The Oak Cliff bistro's menu has more 20 items to choose from, including, braised oxtail orecchiette with butternut squash and mushrooms, gulf shrimp taglierini with oregano pesto and sea urchin and cinnamon short ribs with braised romaine, raisin chutney and celery root.

The Fan Sports Lounge (2990 N Olive St.): This "sports lounge" opened early last month in Victory Park. Maybe the Sportatorium guys have something to say?

Lazaranda Mexican Seafood Grill (5000 Belt Line Rd.): The Mexican seafood restaurant located in the Addison Walk complex at Beltline and the Tollway offers a menu full of fish, shrimp, ceviches, tostados, tacos, enchiladas and soups.

Thai-rrific (4000 Cedar Springs Rd.): The space has been open for about a month now, and the menu boats traditional Thai fare.

Closings:

RedFork (2537 N Fitzhugh Ave.): The gastropub is closed for renovations.

Café San Miguel (1907 N. Henderson Ave.): After spending six years on Henderson Avenue, the restaurant closed its doors for good last month.

Oak Cliff Smokehouse (4351 DFW Turnpike): Oak Cliff Smokehouse (once Luckie's Smokehouse) is no longer in business.

Coming Soon:

Sundown at Granada (3520 Greenville Ave.): The restaurant and beer garden located next to the Granada Theater is set to open "soon" and is hosting a three-day job fair for prospective employees on Sunday, December 4th, Monday, December 5th and Tuesday, December 6.

Company Café (second location (3136 Routh St.)): Their Katy Trail location opens on Tuesday, December 6.

Townhouse Kitchen and Bar (13340 Dallas Pkwy): The Galleria will welcome Townhouse Kitchen and Bar some time this month, offering everything from salads and pork chops to burgers and sushi -- all apparently using market-fresh ingredients.

The Fan Sports Lounge is akin to Taco Bell attempting to open an upscale Mexican restaurant named Taco Bel-Air. ESPN and Fox Sports weren't enough to keep restaurants with overpriced, mediocre food going, but this one's gonna work?

Over/under is 1.5 years. I've got the under.

And anything related to Mico and Mi Cocina will likely be decent but overpraised.

I was going to try the Fan Sports Lounge, but then Richie cut our comments off at his new blog home, so I feel like I lost his support so he can lose mine.  Oh and I give that place less than 2 yrs b4 its shut down.  Absolutely nothing has survived there

Mr. Mesero is related to Mico, but not Mi Cocina.   Maybe pick up a newspaper once in a while?

The food is fucking awesome, and it's amazingly affordable, relative to Mico's former haunts.

The burger is fucking amazing.   The nachos, slaw, ritas, all vastly superior to either of Mico's former Mexican spots.

He cut you guys' comments off? That's cheap. I expect that from elected officials, but not a damn sports writer.

I JUST WANT TO TRY THE TOTS.
